• The definitive “Lake House”; custom architecture by renowned Upstate architect Randy McLain while on staff at Donald A. Gardner Architects, Inc., Greenville, SC.

• Constructed with “Old World Craftsmanship” by Brian Wagler of Wagler Custom Homes for the Sellers 1999 – 2000. Featured in November/December 2002 edition of “Builder/Architect” with cover and five page spread.

• Sited on two adjoining Lake Keowee waterfront lots (73 and 74) totaling 1.18 acre with 309 feet of shoreline in The Summit, a Crescent Community, with clubhouse, swimming pool, tennis court, marina (slips assigned to interior lots) and gated vehicle parking lot (boat trailers, RVs, etc.) as available.

• Set such that when standing at the kitchen sink the view is nearly due north across Lake Keowee to the Blue Ridge Escarpment of South Carolina.

• Exterior of western rough-cut cedar (from British Columbia) with opaque stain.

• The interior of the home is a celebration of fine woods and light. The custom Pantry and Kitchen cabinetry (both Main Level and Garden Level Kitchens) are executed in hickory by Quality Cabinet Shop of Honea Path, SC. The exposed structural beams of the soaring Great Room are of southern yellow pine from Georgia custom laminated for this home. The staircase to the Garden Level is white oak. The custom Library cabinetry, also by Quality Cabinet Shop, is maple. The interior trim, crown molding and all interior doors are solid fir. Clerestory windows bathe the Great Room in sunlight year-round.

• Handmade bricks, burned in Maryland, compose the Main Level (vented, wood-burning) and Garden Level (unvented) fireplace wall (a single, continuous brick structure). Both fireplaces use natural gas logs.

• The high traffic areas of both the Main Level and Garden Level are ceramic tile. A robust Berber carpet is found in the bedrooms on both levels.

• In addition to the Great Room (Living Area and Dining Area) and the Kitchen, the Main Level includes a Pantry convenient to the Garage, a Greenhouse, the Library and the Owner’s Suite (two master bedrooms and two baths). The Main Level walks out to an expansive Deck overlooking Lake Keowee. There is a Screen Porch off the Owner’s Suite.

• The Garden Level includes a full Kitchen, Media/Recreation Room, Bedrooms 3 and 4, an Exercise Room (which doubles as a fifth bedroom) and a full bath. This level walks out to the Patio and Lake Keowee. There is a Screen Porch off Bedroom 3.

• There are three separate natural gas HVAC systems for maximum control and efficiency and two, independent gas hot water heater system (personal use, utility use).

The “full-size”, covered Dock conveys with a boat lift. Water for the twelve zone, computer-controlled irrigation system is drawn from the lake by a pump secreted in the Landing.

• The low maintenance landscaping provides a succession of bloom with native azaleas and rhododendron interspersed along the shoreline. The front yard Retreat invites a summer respite and creates a visual buffer from adjacent properties. When you’re here, its only about the lake.
